One seriously injured with pellets during crowd control in Qazigund

Srinagar Aug 1: At least three civilians were injured, one of them seriously during a crowd control clash in Qazigund today morning.

According to media reports, police tried to stop a mob that was heading to block the Srinagar-Jammu highway. In the ensuing clashes, the police was forced to use tear-gas shells to disperse them and three people got injured. One of them was severely hit and has been shifted to hospital.

Qazigund saw protests and tear gas shelling last evening as well when a group of protesters marched out against the arrest of six youth.

Local sources said that forces used tear gas shells and fired pellets in which a few persons were injured.

“One person was critically injured,” MLA Devsar, Mohammad Amin Bhat, said, “he has been shifted to SKIMS early Monday.”
