Only opposition can question govt move on J&K, no other country can: Shashi Tharoor slams Pak

New Delhi:Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Monday said Pakistan changed the status of Gilgit-Baltistan and PoK and it has no right to point finger towards India.

“Pakistan has no locus standi as far as India’s internal matters are concerned and We won’t give even an inch to Pakistan”, he reiterated. He added that the opposition parties in India can criticise the government but outside India, parties stand united.

Referring Congress as the ‘vehicle for advancement of the ideas of inclusive and progressive India’, Tharoor said he did not come to the Congress party for ‘lifelong career’, he joined it as he ‘believed in the party’.

Recently, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee had issued a notice to Shashi Tharoor seeking explanation for praising PM Modi. He faced the ire of party colleagues in Kerala for his comments that PM Modi should be praised for doing the right things. However, along with Tharoor, Abishek Singhvi and Jairam Ramesh had said that not recognising Modi’s work and “demonising” him all the time was not going to help.
