Pakistan flags were hoisted during Democratic Freedom Party chairman Shabir Ahmad shah’s rally today. Later, Shabir Shah was arrested at Khanbal area after coming back to Srinagar. This is the fifth such incident in the valley in seven days.
Earlier, Pakistani flags were seen in the Valley during a rally organised on the eve of death anniversary of separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s father.
During a rally held by the Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Kashmir’s Tral region earlier this month, Pakistani flags were raised and the Centre was forced to ask the state government to initiate strict action against those responsible.
Last month, 45-year-old Kashmiri separatist Masarat Alam was arrested for raising pro-Pakistan slogans and flags at a rally attended by him to welcome Geelani.
