Soldier Wounded in Kashmir Border Firing

Jammu: The Pakistani Army Wednesday resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence sources told IANS: “Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked firing at two of our posts on the LoC in Poonch district today evening.”

They added: “They are using small arms and automatics to target our positions. Our troops have responded with equal calibre weapons.


“Pakistan firing started at 7 p.m. today and till last reports came, firing exchanges were still going on in the area.”

The violation of bilateral ceasefire by Pakistan comes after a month’s calm on the LoC and the international border in the state.
