Pakistan violates ceasefire in Uri, one jawan injured
New Delhi, July 17: A Jawan was injured in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector when Pakistan violated ceasefire on Monday and fired upon several army posts in the area. Pakistan reportedly fired artillery shells at Indian troops from the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir side.
In this latest incident of violating ceasefire, initially reports arrived regarding the unprovoked attack of Pakistani troops on Indian posts in Uri sector of the Valley. However, soon it was reported that an Indian soldier was injured in the attacks. Indian troops retaliated to the indiscriminate firing from the Pakistani troops. Pakistan fired artillery shells from the PoK side on Monday.
This is the third ceasefire violation in less than 12 hours. Previously two other incidents of ceasefire violation has been reported from Rajouri and Poonch district. In one of such unprovoked attack of Pakistan, a 6-year old girl lost her life in Poonch’s Balakote area. Similarly, Naik Muddasar Ahmed was martyred in Manjakote sector of Rajouri. Apart from them, two more civilians were reported injured in these attacks and they were taken to hospitals.
Earlier on Monday morning, a woman was injured in Rajouri’s Manjakote when Pakistani troops indiscriminately fired at the Indian side. The trend in all of this attacks have been the same. Pakistan attacks India unprovoked and as a result causing death of Indian civilians and soldiers. India has to resort to retaliatory firing.
While soon after the attacks, all schools were declared closed near the Line of Control (LoC), lives around the border area has been made far difficult due to these attacks of Pakistan. District Collector of rajouri announced that all schools will remain closed until the situation improves.
