The ongoing construction of new buildings/blocks, inside the premises of University of Jammu (JU) has shrunk the parking space in the varsity considerably, thereby converting into a concrete jungle.
The new building has been constructed outside the Controller of Examination office and the shrinking parking space for vehicles here can be seen with two-wheelers and four-wheelers being parked on either side of the road.
A few years ago there was so much greenery in the University of Jammu. It had beautiful grounds with lush green grass, but all of a sudden it vanished. It is because of allowing of rapid pace of construction on the campus in the name of strengthening infrastructure by the varsity authorities.
JU is probably one of the most congested varsities in the country. There seems to be no proper plan to solve the issue of shrinking space, which is really been a matter of great concern. If the things continue like this, time is not far away when we will find only structures and no ground at all in the varsity.
