After the episode, the Patwaris from the area on Monday stayed away from work in order to protest the alleged slapping of a revenue official in Jammu by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator. The revenue officials of five Tehsil Offices massed an extensive demonstration against the act of aversion of the MLA in Gadigarh. They argued that any Minister does not get to impose their whim on the government officials so much so as to ‘Slap’ them. They also demanded that an FIR be filed against the legislator for his unacceptable behaviour.
