PDP-BJP Govt’s third budget on Jan 9; CM’s reply on Jan 4


JAMMU: The budget session of the state legislature is going to start on January 2nd with Governer N.N Vohra’s address to joint session of the legislature. on January 9 PDP-BJP government will be presented the third consecutive state budget with a separate power budget for the financial year 2017-2018.

The legislative assembly today issued a provisional calendar for the budget session following the approval of speaker following the approval of speaker Kavinder Gupta in consultations with Mehbooba Mufti and Parliamentary affairs Minister Abdul RHeman Verri.The Session will start on 2nd January with governor address, the session will be in business for 34 days and assembly will in session for 24 sitting. This session will conclude on 4th February.

The budget will be presented by the finance Minister of the state by Mr, Hasseb Darbu. It will be the third time he will presenting the state budget in the state assembly.As per the provisional calendar, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will reply to debate on Motion of Thanks to Governor’s Address on January 4 (in the afternoon). While the Governor will address the joint session of the Legislature on January 2, the Assembly will debate the address on January 3 and 4. Late in the afternoon of January 4, Mehbooba will reply to the debate.

Government will also present a separate Power will for the year 2017-2018 following the trend of the different state budget and different power budget as presented in 2015.Thirteen days with double sittings has been reserved from Jan 12-27 with off-days on January 13,15,22,25,26 have been reserved for the Budget discussion and passing of budget various ministries followed by the approval of various bills and Supplementary grants for 2017-2018.
