Srinagar, February 09: News have been floating in that the Peoples Democratic Party has started finalizing draft of demands on Confidence Building Measures (CBMs), which the party wants to be fulfilled from Bharatiya Janta Party as the prospective dialogue has been started been started between the top brass of both the parties over the question of government formation in the state.
The demands has been drafted by the “core group” of PDP leaders which as per sources includes senior party leaders like Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, Naeem Akhter and Nizam Ud Din Bhat and the proposal have been finalized with consultation from PDP President Mehbooba. However, PDP has got feelers from the BJP that what kind of CBMs, the former wants to be taken by the Central Government and the draft has been made according to that.
As per a top PDP leader, these demands include immediate return of power projects like Salal and Dulhasti to the State, revocation of AFSPA from Srinagar in first phase, separate package for the flood hit people of Kashmir and job opportunities for the unemployed youth of the State.
The final model of demands have been made and it will be conveyed to the BJP at the appropriate time, he said further. He also brought up that the BJP point man on Kashmir, Ram Madhav is going to meet the PDP president in the coming time and the meeting will end the stalemate over Government formation.
The PDP will put forth a clear cut list of demands and if the other party agrees on the demand of CBMs, PDP would not take more than a few hours to form the Government, he said.
