Srinagar, August 12 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Ms Mehbooba Mufti has expressed shock and grief over the road accident at Sadhana Pass which claimed eleven lives including teenagers and women.
Expressing sympathy with the bereaved families she said that administration should do its best to provide sufficient help and relief to the kins of those who passed away in the unfortunate incident.
In a similar sentiment for the effected families PDP general secretary Nizamudin Bhat, Chief Coordinator North Kashmir Raja Aijaz Ali , MLA Raja Manzoor & MLC Javaid Mirchal demanded ex-gratia relief from the government.
The local MLA Raja Manzoor who accompanied relatives of the deceased himself during the retrieval of bodies and last rights expressed dissatisfaction over the road management at Sadhana Pass which according to him claims precious lives at several occasions. He said that BEACON authorities should underline the importance of the road for commuters and take necessary steps to upgrade and widen the road so that such incidents are avoided.
He invited the attention of authorities for traffic management to check the menace of over loading which often become cause of such unfortunate incidents.
The MLA also appreciated the efforts of local administration in the post accident operations.
