PDP first choice of people: Mehbooba
“Party will focus on development needs of Budgam”
Srinagar:Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti has said PDP after having established its popularity in the parliamentary elections is gaining further ground and it was encouraging to see more and more people joining it ahead of the assembly polls.
She was addressing a function to welcome the leadership and members of United Development Front Budgam into the party fold here today. The front has been spearheading a movement for socio economic development of Budgam for quite some time. Its leaders Haji Ali Mohd Dar, Gh Nabi Bhat, Haji Gh Mohd Wani, Haji Ab Karim Dar, Gh Rasool Malik, Haji Ali MOhd, Haji Ab Rehman Bhat and other members were welcomed by Mehbooba Mufti into the party. She expressed the hope that with the joining of the front and its leaders who are respected and prominent citizens of Budgam, the party will receive the boost in the area which has unfortunately been lacking even in basic amenities of life. With their help, Mehbooba said once the party comes into power a focused attention would be paid to the development needs of entire district and Budgam constituency.
Mehbooba said the NC leadership instead of working seriously for the people’s cause, has pushed them to the wall through its insensitiveness, callous attitude and mis-governance over the last six years. Mehbooba said change is imminent on the ground and even after having read the writing on the wall the ruling party leadership has adopted ostrich like attitude and are now trying to mislead the people with hollow slogans and promises. “NC is a story deceptive tactics and which has not been able to fulfill a single promise made to the people from time to time,” she said
Mehbooba said the ruling National Conference has created a record of sorts by giving the state worst ever governments over the years. “After having stood out as the worst ever government even by NC standards the Omar Abdullah government has exposed itself as the worst loser as well” she said.
Expressing her satisfaction at the increasing appeal of PDP and its agenda among the informed sections of society, Mehbooba said the party is not an exclusive preserve but offers a free and open platform to all sections of society and its aim is to empower different categories of the society.
