Kishtwar: Asserting that National Conference was facing the challenge of its existence and survival, Peoples Democratic Party leader and candidate for Kishtwar assembly segment Firdous Tak Sunday said that 2014 polls will be the battle of conscious, vision and ideology and those who have sacrificed interest of state and people will vanish from the political horizon of Jammu and Kashmir for ever.
“The battle PDP is fighting is the battle of ideology, battle of vision and a battle to bring the state of Jammu and Kashmir out of confusion, chaos and underdevelopment”, Tak said adding, “The election
is, however, a battle for existence for the National Conference and Congress in the state”.
Launching the election campaign here on Sunday, after welcoming dozens of BJP and NC workers in the party folds, Tak said that PDP will fight the upcoming polls for a decisive mandate in its favour, in order to bring a considerable change on governance and development front.
“It is for the first time that the people of all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir are collectively looking ahead towards one party, Peoples Democratic Party, with the hope that the state be brought out
of the economic, governance and developmental chaos”, Tak said while interacting with students, businessmen, professionals and employees from Kishtwar, who are presently putting up in Jammu.
Referring to the backwardness and lack of development in Kishtwar assembly constituency, Tak said that like Abdullahs it is just a single family which has been benefitted in this mountainous region at the cost of prosperity, development and welfare of people. “While the constituency was plunged into backwardness despite huge inflow of funds, it was a single family in Kishtwar which prospered.
Launching a scathing attack on the ruling party, he said that those unleashing propaganda in order to stick to the chair have forgot that PDP was a party based on principals and its cadre can sacrifice themselves for the welfare of people. “It is not surprising that even the ministers from the ruling parties want to join PDP as they know that their ship is sinking”, he said adding, “However, they should
know that this party has no place for the self-centric and power hungry people”.
Addressing the gathering State Secretary PDP Youth Ishtiyaq Hussain Waza said that time has come when the people should unite under a single platform in order to realize the dream of better government.
Noor Hussain Malik said that three years of PDP rule under the party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayed was the golden era in Jammu and Kashmir and even today people were comparing 60 years of government with 3 years of governance.
Sheikh Nasir Hussain said that that time has come when the people, irrespective of their ideology and affiliations, join hands “in order to bring a change, we all have been dreaming about over the last several years”. “Change if the essence of time and it will come but we all have to contribute towards the effective and considerable transformation by ensuring that those who have brought the state at this juncture of quagmire pay the price for mis-governance, nepotism and corruption”, he said.
District President Youth Umar Malik welcomed the decision of party to give mandate to a young and intellectual person from Kishtwar. He said that youth have brought a considerable change across the state and the result was evident from the recently concluded parliamentary elections.
Around two dozen youth associated with BJP and NC from Padiarana area joined PDP and pledged their support to the vision and policies of the party.
