PDP MP’s house set on fire, 4 rifles stolen

The house of ruling PDP’s sitting MP was set ablaze by angry protestors today afternoon. Local sources said that thousands of protesters marched towards Chawalgam area of Kulgam and attacked the residence belonging to Nazir Ahmad Laway.

Laway, a businessman, was nominated to Rajya Sabha by PDP.

Reports said that locals had planned a pro-freedom rally in the area today but forces did not allow it.

“People were angry after forces raided the venue this morning and injured many civilians by firing pellets,” reports said.

Angry people thereafter marched towards Laway’s residence, however, no one was present in the house.

Protesters also looted 3-Insas and 1 SLR rifles from the House of Kashmir MP Nazir Ahmad Laway.
