PDP set to gear up party activities through membership drive

Srinagar, Feb. 17: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is all set to gearup party activities throughout the state. The beginning is being made through a workers convention proposed to be held on 21st of February (Sunday) at party headquarters from Srinagar and will be attended by the party president Ms Mehbooba Mufti , senior leaders including general secretaries, chief spokesman, political advisor to president and others.

A meeting was held at party headquarters in this regard today. The meeting was attended by former ministers , legislators and prominent leaders including Syed M Altaf Bukhari, Ms Asiea Naqash, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Anjum Fazilli, Ab Hameed Kosheen, Dr Ali Mohammad, Mudasir Amin, and all zone presidents from Srinagar District.

The meeting was presided by party district president for Srinagar and MLC Mohammad Khurshid Aalam. The convention which has already been approved by the party president Ms Mehbooba Mufti will through open the membership drive in the state with an objective to expand  the party base.

All leaders exuded confidence that convention at Srinagar will give a desired flip to party activity and will take the party’s massage to gross roots.

Howover the leaders in the meeting unanimously focused as how the party agenda in tune with late leader Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s vision can be accomplished to the satisfaction of people at large. The leaders reiterated their commitment and resolve to undertake every desirable activity under the leadership of Ms Mehbooba Mufti and hoped that her dynamism and courage will stay as an inspiration to sustain the prominence of PDP as the most viable political alternative in Jammu & Kashmir.
