Srinagar, January 22: The suspense over government re-formation in Jammu and Kashmir is growing denser leading to a lot of speculations doing the rounds in political corners every day.
According to sources, Peoples Democratic Party is all set to hold its legislature party meeting next week. PDP president Mehbooba Mufti met her senior party leaders and lawmakers on Thursday which was 15th day of mourning for her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. However, PDP spokesperson has indicated that the meeting was a purely religious function and no politics was discussed in the meeting.
Though no official statement was made in this regard but the sources say that the legislature party meeting is scheduled to be held before the end of this month.
According to a senior party leader,”it is not clear that the legislators would nominate Mehbooba as the legislature party leader or she would get feedback from lawmakers on different aspects in the meeting.”
Reports say that the lawmakers have told Mehbooba to take feedback from the constituencies before taking any decision. Also, a number of lawmakers of the party were upset for not being invited into the core group meeting held on January 17. They alleged that they were ignored during the decision making process.
Mehbooba before taking any call on government formation wanted the Prime Minister Narenadra Modi or BJP national president Amit Shah assure her over the implementation of the “Agenda of Alliance”, sources said. However, theere has been no success in this area so far.
Mufti’s son, Tassaduq was also present in the ‘religious’ function on Thursday and spoke to the party leaders which has given air to the rumors. Though, it was a brief address and he did not talk about any political issues. He mentioned the issues relating to environment and tourism in his speec
