Teenager killed in Accident in Talab Tilllo; people block road in protest
JAMMU: People gathered in Tlaab Tillo area earlier today, and raised slogans against the traffic police. People also blocked vehicular traffic on the busy Talab Tillo road for about two hours.
They also demanded to make speed breakers on specific places on the Talab Tillo road to discourage rash driving so that such mishaps do not occur in future.
An 18-year-old youth got seriously injured when he fell from a moving mini-bus in Talab Tillo area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the mishap occurred today when the victim identified as Aman, son of Babu Ram, resident of Gole Panj Pir (Talab Tillo), was travelling while hanging on the door of the mini-bus bearing registration number JK02BN-0677.
He said as the Aman was hanging with the door of the mini-bus, when another mini-bus bearing registration number JK02AX-9541 tried to overtake the former, he got trapped between two vehicles and fell down, resulting into serious injuries to him.
“The injured youth was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injureies”, the spokesman said, adding, a case has been registered and both the vehicles involved in the mishap have been seized while further investigations are underway.
