People visit CM’s residence in large numbers to offer Eid greetings 

Holy occasion celebrated with traditional gaiety, amity

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 27: A large number of people from all walks of life, including workers from People’s Democratic Party (PDP), called on the Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, at his residence for the third consecutive day today to convey their wishes on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Those who met the Chief Minister included Ministers, Legislators, common people and senior functionaries of PDP, comprising members from its youth and women’s wings.

The Chief Minister congratulated the people for celebrating the holy occasion with traditional brotherhood and amity, befitting the pious occasion. He said by observing Eid-ul-Azha with gaiety and religious fervour, the people have once again demonstrated their strong belief in mutual co-existence, which is the essence of state’s unique multiculturalism.

“Jammu and Kashmir is a rare blend of different cultures, regions and religions. The respect for each other runs deep in their veins and this gives us strength to further cement the bonds of love and friendship that exist between various communities,” he said and resolved to work for overall development and prosperity of the state.
