People will get relief from dilapidated condition of roads
Jammu, May 18: The residents of the Jammu city will get relief from the dilapidated condition of the roads as the Public Works Department has started the blacktopping of the city roads after about 10 years. The black topping of the road stretch between Vikram to Satwari has started after the announcement of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and announced Rs. 50 crore for the purpose and asked to start this project at the earliest.
Senior officials said that the department has invited tenders and has given a go ahead to this project. The officials emphasized that the contractors were asked to the follow the strict instructions passed from the government. The government issued strict instructions that for three years it is the responsibility of the contractor to repair the road whenever needed. The officials said that this will help the department for keeping the roads in the better conditions. The officials also said that there will be no scope for bad work and appealed to the people to inform the department about any untidy work of black topping of the roads for the better quality of the work.
