People’s participation imperative for effective development: Bhalla

Bhalla-18JAMMU :- Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Mr. Raman Bhalla today said that Government is committed to provide all basic amenities in periphery pockets of urban centres for which several schemes have already been launched by it.
While kick starting the construction work of lanes and drains at Channi Himmat today, Bhalla said that Government is committed to improve the living standard of the people by creating necessary infrastructure. He asked the executing agency to complete the works within prescribed time frame and use quality material  , adding that Government was committed to create durable   assets for the people.
Mr. Bhalla asserted that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed massive development in all spheres during last five year period adding that several concrete measures have been taken to create durable assets and improve living standard of the people.
Mr. Bhalla said that a large number of people that have gathered at Channi today are witness to the fact that people have started reposing the confidence in the developmental approach of the coalition government.
The Minister issued instructions to Managing Director J&K Housing Board to immediately complete upgradation work of lanes and drains, approach road, and lighting in the Colony for which Rs. 55 lakh has been sanctioned.
Mr. Bhalla desired that the pace of progress on maintenance of the colony be expedited. He said that Government was aware of their problems and efforts are being made to address them in a phased manner. He said proposal of other development works is under active consideration of the Government and every possible measure will be taken to further improve things on ground, he maintained.
