Phase 5 Assembly Elections: With the last 20 seats to be chosen by over 18 lakh electors , the five phased Assembly Elections will terminate today. 1828904 voters will chose the fate of 213 candidates contesting from 20 constituencies.

Out of 20 constituencies spread across three districts- Kathua, Jammu and Rajouri- Gandhi Nagar has the maximum share of voters as 168643 and Bani has the lowest number of electoral as 41506. The total number of electoral in Kathua district is 432331, Jammu has  over 10 lakh voters and Rajouri district comprising four constituencies has a total of 385614 .
The total number of polling booths are 2366 for the day with Gandhi Nagar having the maximum of 172 stations and Bani with the lowest of 73.
The major candidates in the final fray for the throne are Kavinder Gupta,  MLA Raman Bhalla from Gandhi Nagar constituency.
Jagdish Raj Sapolia, Lal singh, Davinder Singh, Nirmal Kumar singh, Manohar Lal Sharma, Sanjeev Khajuria, Jatinder Singh, Rajiv Jasrotia, Rajesh Gupta, Sat Paul Sharma and Surinder Singh Shingari are other prominent contestants in the final battle of votes.
The saffron party’s performance in this phase will be deciding factor of BJP’s fate in the state. With lesser hopes in Kashmir, BJP is anticipating to sail through this phase so as to come in a strong position to form the next government. To accomplish the ’44 plus’ mission in the state, BJP needs to win maximum seats in this phase.
