The body of a PHE department’s AEE was found at his residence in Nanak Nagar Sector No.7 under suspicious conditions.
After analyzing the body, it was speculated that the he was dead for the past two days. Since it started to stink so bad, the neighbors noticed and informed the police, who later on discovered the dead body.
The Gandhi Nagar Police took the body to GMC’s Jammu mortuary and started the investigation.
The deceased was identified as Hardev Singh, son of Kartar Singh, and was posted in Udhampur these days.
On Wednesday afternoon, the residents of sector 7 Nanak Nagar, called the PCR after they smelled something awfully dead-like from one of the houses in the locality. Upon their call, SHO Gandhi Nagar, Bishnesh Kumar, along with his men, rushed to the area. They tried to enter, but the door was locked from the inside, so they had to break into the house. As soon as they got in, they saw Hardev Singh’s body lying on the bed. Due to the extremely hot weather, it had started smelling highly unpleasant.
As per the statement given by the SHO, Hardev Singh was not living with his wife in Nanak Nagar. He has two children, one of which is in a day-boarding in Dalhousie and the other is pursuing BDS outside the state.
The reason for the mysterious death of the PHE employee would be disclosed once the postmortem results are declared.
