PIL filed in case of the pending Bajalta Cricket Stadium
JAMMU, Jan 27: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in case of an inordinate delay in the construction of the Bajalta International Cricket Stadium in Jammu.Wher
The petitioner, Advocate Divakar Sharma stated to the Court that in the year 2005, the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) was allotted 500 Kanal land for the construction of the cricket stadium. Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) even allocated a fund of Rs. 100 Cr to JKCA for the purpose. In spite of that, the project has been hanging in a void for more than a decade.

The petitioner appealed to the Court to order the concerned authority and direct them to initiate the work as soon as possible.
