It will be the first visit of Prime Minister to the state after the death of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Governor N N Vohra, who is the chairman of the shrine board, had requested the Prime Minister to inaugurate the Super Speciality Hospital.
The tertiary care super speciality hospital, constructed
at a cost of Rs 300 crore, will have 20 streams of medicine and Surgery, including Cardiology, Cardio-Thoracic surgery, Neurology, Neuro-surgery, Nephrology, Urology, Oncology, Pulmonology, Bone-Marrow transplant, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedics, Trauma-Medicine, Paediatrics and Neonatology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The hospital has a floor area of 2.54 lakh sq ft and residential accommodation of 2.67 lakh sq ft for housing doctors, nurses, paramedical and ancillary staff.
The hospital complex will have an inn for enabling the patients coming from within and outside the state on moderate payment and a guest house for visiting doctors. Besides, arrangements will also be made for moderately priced food being served to patients and attendants through the day.
“Security arrangements are being made at Vaishno Devi Shrine Bhawan in connection with the Prime Minister’s expected visit,” the officer said.
