Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and present Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje may replaces Sushma Swaraj as the new External Affairs Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet.
New Delhi, Apr 6: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and present Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje may replaces Sushma Swaraj as the new External Affairs Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet. If media reports are to be believed, PM Narendra Modi is most likely to reshuffle his cabinet after the ongoing Parliament session. While all eyes will be on the Defence Ministry, which has been given to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as additional charge, Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj can also be replaced by Vasundhara Raje.
According to a report of the Financial Express, Vasundhara Raje would be given charge of the Ministry of External Affairs and OM Mathur can replace Vasundhara Raje as the new CM of Rajasthan. The report further said Manoj Sinha, who is the minister of communication (independent charge) and minister of state for railways, can be given a bigger role at the Centre. Reportedly, Manoj Sinha, who was one of the leading contenders for the post of UP CM, is unhappy with Yogi Adityanath’s selection for heading country’s largest state.
There’s no clarity that what responsibility will be given to Sushma Swaraj after relieving her from the Ministry of External Affairs where she has done a brilliant job and made a special place in the hearts of the Indian people. Suspense also remained that who will take the charges of crucial Defence Ministry after cabinet reshuffle. Keeping the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in mind, the BJP want to bring some young and new faces in the cabinet. The 75-year-old Union Cabinet Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Kalraj Singh can also be removed from his post.
