Police attempted to poison me in custody, says Kewal Sharma PRO to ex-Deputy CM Tara Chand
Jammu — An incident earlier suspected as suicide attempt by consuming poison has taken a new turn in case of Kewal Sharma, arrested on charges of corruption. Kewal Sharma has made serious allegations on police saying that he was forced to consume a poisonous substance, reports Punjab Kesari. Police had registered a case under RPC sec 309- attempt to suicide.
Kewal Sharma was arrested on Feb 20 by the vigilance organization Jammu (VoJ) on charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his source of income. “I have a CD of the ex Dy CM. It’s conspiracy to eliminate me. I am being singled out.”, said Kewal Sharma as reported.
Kewal Sharma informed that on the night of 5 March, Station incharge Pacca Danga Inspector Ajay Bhatt had given him a cup of tea after which he vomited profusely and lost consciousness. Later, he found himself at the hospital.
The Station incharge said that the Vigilance Organisation had kept him in the station and he had no business with Kewal. He added that the accused used to take pills for depression whose overdose must have caused this.
Ishant Sharma, son of Kewal Sharma said that his father has been in Pacca Danga jail for a week. He said that the police itself gave him the necessary medicines on a timely basis.
The family members and friends protested against the Station incharge and Ex-Deputy CM Tara Chand outside the hospital on 5th March. They allege that its a conspiracy to eliminate Kewal Sharma so that the real culprits remain safe. They are worried about his life as its under a constant threat from these forces.
