Police ‘drops’ name of MLA’s son from FIR copy
Poonch: Day after massive violence in Mendhar by NC workers in a bid to enforce bandh, PDP today accused police of succumbing to pressure of local NC MLA by excluding his name from FIR registered against NC workers.
Police have registered a case under FIR No 193/16 U/S 451,323,147,148, 323, 504, 506, 336, 427 RPC at Mendhar against 30 persons out of which 9 are identified. The PDP leader said that name of the NC MLA’s son was at serial number four in the complaint lodged in the police station.According to PDP leader, Waseem Ahmad Khan, the NC MLA Javaid Rana’s son, Zeeshan Rana, was named in complaint filed by locals after massive stone-pelting on shops yesterday but surprisingly his name is nowhere in the FIR copy.
“Under pressure from MLA, police have not named him in the FIR. This is so sad on the part of the police and also NC MLA. The MLA pushed poor people towards violence and saved his son who was leading them in violence,” the PDP leader added.(GNS)
