Police launches search operation in Kulgam

Based on specific inputs, Kulgam Police a joint Specific Search operation was launched with 62RR, Kulgam Police and 18 BN CRPF in Vill Avhotu in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District which led to the apprehension of Shakoor Parray, ex PSO of SDPO Irshad Rather, who had joined the militancy ranks.

Shakoor Parray had decamped with 04 AK-47 with magazines in January 2016. He was the mastermind behind the recruitment of youth to join the tanzeem. He had also carried out a firing and weapon snatching attempt on a police picquet in village Hajipur.

62RR and Kulgam Police were working together continuously in tracking his move and had launched multiple prior operations for the same. The meticulous planning and painstaking efforts of 62RR and Kulgam Police led to this apprehension of a Category A militant with a pistol and 02 grenades. The highest standards of restraint and fire cont were displayed by the SF which led to no collateral damage to civilian life or property.
