MAHORE/SAMBA, Sept 14: Police on Sunday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 12 bovines and arresting four smugglers.
According to a report, a specific information was received at SPP Balmatkote that some persons are on way towards Kashmir along with bovines and have reached near Kharbas Loun Gali of Tehsil Mahore. On this, a Police team from SPP Balmatkote rushed to the spot and rescued seven bovines from the possession of accused person namely Mohd Hussain, resident of Larh Tehsil Mahore. The accused person has been arrested and a case FIR No. 98/2015 under section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Mahore against him.
Meanwhile three vehicles carrying five bovines were seized by Vijaypur Police on Sunday which were on their way from Kathua to Valley. According to police three Mahindra load carriers bearing registration Nos JK02AP-6686, JK02AU-9296, JK21A-9713 were signaled by SHO Vijaypur Rajeshwar Singh at a police Naka but all the three
fled violating the signal. The police chased the vehicles and intercepted these
at Soankha Morh.
The Police seized all the three vehicles and rescued five bovines which were being illegally carried in violation of the restrictions imposed by the DC Samba. The SHO under the supervision of SDPO S.S Sambyal, arrested the driver of the vehicles namely Surinder Kumar resident of Bishnah, Baljit Choudhary also resident of Bishnah and Hans Raj resident of RS Pura.
A case FIR 60/15 under section 188 RPC and 2/3 PC Act has been registered for investigation.
