Police resort to teargas to disperse protestors

Srinagar: Police today resorted to tear gas to scatter the protestors in Srinagar city on the opening day of Darbar. The traders were protesting to express their solidarity with the flood affected traders who are yet to be rehabilitated and compensated till date.

Earlier the traders held rallies at Lal Chowk and when they reached Maisuma, the Police personnel deployed there swung into action and foiled the March of the traders towards Secretariat.

It is pertinent to mention here that a bandh call was given by the traders to express their solidarity with the flood affected traders who have not received any compensation.
