Policy put in place for fast-tracking recruitment: Veeri
Minister for Horticulture, Hajj and Auqaf, Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri said the Government has adopted a policy to fast-track recruitments in government departments for filling up of non-gazetted posts borne on establishment of any department or service of the government and such gazetted posts as may be notified from time to time. He said for the effective implementation of the policy, the Jammu and Kashmir Special Recruitment Rule 2015 have already been notified.
The Minister said this while replying to a question by Mr. Vibodh Gupta on behalf of Chief Minister in the Legislative Council today. The Minister said that under the said policy, it is obligatory on recruiting agencies viz, Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (SSB) to complete selection process of already referred vacancies within the period of three months.
The Minister informed the House that number of vacant posts referred to PSC and SSB which are pending selection as on date include 2632 posts in PSC and 16047 in SSB.
The Minister said no regular appointment in any government department has been made on the basis other than recommendations of JKPSC and JKSSB. He further said that appointments in government departments however, are also made under categories including compassionate appointments, outstanding sportsperson, class IV posts, appointment in police department/prison through designated Recruitment Board etc.
