Posters of army officer’s ‘killers’ appear in Shopian
Srinagar, May 12: Police on Friday pasted posters of three militants in Shopian saying they were involved in the killing of young Army officer Ummer Fayaz, sources said.
Police claimed that three militants were involved in the abduction and killing of Ummer Fayaz in Herman village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
They said the militants are from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen.
A resident of Sudsona village in Kulgam district, Ummer was killed in Shopian village where he had gone to attend a relative’s marriage ceremony.
Meanwhile, a massive manhunt has been launched to catch the said militants, police said.
The poster reads that any person providing information about these ” Criminals” (terrorists) would be suitably rewarded and the identity of the informer will be kept secret.”
Similar posters have appeared in South Kashmir announcing rewards for providing information about the militants responsible for attack on cash van of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in which five police personnel and two bank employees were killed and militants involved in attack on Army patrol and other incidents.
