Jammu, May 19: Poungar, a four-day Youth Musical Festival organised by Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today entered into second day in which the youngsters enthrall the audience with their melodious voices during the folk performances. Director Doordarshan, Jammu, Anjali Sharma was the chief guest, Khalid Hussain, eminent Punjabi Short Story writer presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Doordarshan, Jammu Anjali Sharma appreciated the role of J&K Cultural Academy in organizing this 4-day music festival. She said that such efforts will help to encourage and provide space to the upcoming talent of the region particularly in the field of music. Khalid Hussain said that the steps taken by the academy for encouraging youth in the field of music and such festivals not only provide platform to the encouraging youth in the field of music.
Among others, Additional Secretary J&K Cultural Acaemy, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn was also present on the occasion. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Rattan Lal Basotra, Asstt. Editor Dogri and vote of thanks was presented by Research Assistant, Dictionary Dr Yash Pal Nirmal.
