Crime Branch, Jammu today registered a formal case FIR and booked one Atul Chibber who after alluring the complainant had taken a huge amount of Rs. 44.00 lacs from her and later swindled/misappropriated the same.

A written complaint lodged by Smt. Babita Jain Wd/o Late Vinod Kumar Jain R/o SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana, Jammu, duly forwarded by Ld. Ist Addl. Munsiff, Forest Magistrate, Jammu, was received in Crime Branch, wherein the complainant had alleged that her husband was running a unit of manufacturing of cotton seed cakes at  Mehtpur, Himachal Pradesh and SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana, Jammu but was brutally murdered on 14-02-2013 owning to certain property disputes leaving the complainant and her two minor sons at the mercy of God. It was further alleged that thereafter, one Atul Chibber S/o Late Madan Lal Chibber R/o Channi Himmat, Jammu who had relatives in Hoshiarpur, Punjab residing near her parental house approached her and convinced her that he can extend the help in running the Industrial units upon which, while imposing trust she allowed him to look after her business. The said Atul Chibber in order to further gain her trust also convinced her to extend help in contesting the murder case and after some time with the predetermined criminal mind he took an amount of Rs. 44.00 lacs through bank transactions and cash on the pretext of arranging raw material supplies for her cotton seed units and some other investments and in this regard also provided an agreement and hundies but after taking such a huge amount he neither provided the raw material nor returned her money. Even on making repeated requests to the accused Atul Chibber the complainant was threatened of dire consequences and elimination as the accused didn’t bothered to return her amount and even switched off his mobile No’s 9419199235 and 8803502493 etc.

On the receipt of this complaint a preliminary verification was initiated in Crime Branch, Jammu and during the course of verification it was found that accused Atul Chibber came in contact with the complainant and after alluring her with the criminal intention and false pretexts he received an amount of Rs. 44.00 lacs from her out of which Rs. 8 lac were received through cheques which were credited in his bank account maintained in IDBI Bank, Bahu Plaza, Jammu and Rs. 36 lac were received in cash. It was also found that the accused in order to further cheat the complainant also gave false and fake receipts in the shape of agreements and hundies and later duped her as despite receiving the huge amount of Rs. 44 lac from her, he neither provided the raw material nor returned the money of the poor widow and in fact misappropriated the same on his personal use merely in order to cause wrongful gains to himself and wrongful loss to the complainant.

Accordingly, a formal case was today registered against the fraudster Atul Chibber S/o Late Madan Lal Chibber R/o Channi Himmat, Jammu u/s 420,406,465,466,467,468,506 RPC and investigation was taken up.

All India Devotional Song Competition


Katra Oct.07, 16  All India Devotional Song Competition entered in Fifth day late evening as a part of Navratra Festival 2016  with the litting  of a traditional lamp by Ms. Sangeeta Gupta,Principal Commissioner of Income Tax  J&K State in presence of Neelam Khajuria SDM Katra , Ms. Vinakshi Koul Deputy Director Tourism ,Subir Kotwal Additional SP Katra,Rakesh Wazir Chairman Devotional Song Committee,Dr. Ashok Sharma D.S.P Katra , Arvind Sambyal S.H.O Katra , Dr. Umesh Shan Asstt. Director Tourism, ,Mr. Mohit Raina Tehsildar Katra, besides members Navratra Festival Committee Shyam Lal Kesar, Sardari Lal Dubey, Virender Kesar etc.

In this preliminary round of competition Chirag Kotwal from Bhaderwah was adjudged as 1st Position holder, Vinod Kumar from Punjab adjudged 2nd and 3rd position was held by Sharsh Talwar from Jammu among the 13 auditioned participants and were provided with the cash prizes of 10,000/- , 5,000/-and 3,000/- respectively.

It is worth while to mention here that this programme is telecasted on different satellite and cable channels on different timings but it will be telecasted live on Shradha Mh one  and Navgraha Channel on 8th  ,9th & 10th from 9.30 onward.The Navgraha Channel is available on Dish TV-765,Air Tel 702,Videocon 495 and on DD free Dish on 31.

The Devotional Song Competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Dr. C.L Verma Ex. Dean & Chairperson Himachal Pardesh University Shimla, Dr. Surinder Sharma HOD in Govt. College of Shimla , 20 years Experience in field of Music,and Mr. H.G Roy Retd. from Sangeet Natak Academy New Delhi , Participated National & International Culture Festival as a Judge and 40 year Experience in field of Music.

The proceeding of Competition was conducted by Sh.Rakesh Wazir who is also the Chairman of the said Competition besides Member Navratra Festival Committee.

The All India Devotional Song Competition is being organized by S.M.V.D. Shrine Board, Deptt. of J&K Tourism  and MH Shardha with active support of  Shiv Khori Shrine Board, ,Navgraha Channel,India News, Zee PHH ,92.7  Big  FM ,J&K Bank, Nidesh Builders Pvt.Ltd. Jammu, District Administration, Hotel & Restaurant Association,Katra and local host community.

 Ms. Sonali Dogra former winner of the Competition also enthralled the audience with her sweet and melodious voice.

Meanwhile, chief guest Ms. Sangeeta Gupta while speaking on the occasion extended greetings to the organizers of the Navratra Festival’s All India Devotional Song Committee and Participants

Awareness van on SBM flagged off from Doongi.


Raojuri, In order to aware the people about the Prime Ministers initiative of Swach Bharat Mission and to mark the ‘Pakhwada’ for yearly celebration of SBM, an awareness van was today flagged off to different parts of the district from border belt Doongi.

A programme in this regard was held by Block Development Officer Doongi in Government Higher Secondary School Sassalkote in which Member Legislative Council Vibodh Gupta was chief guest while District Panchayat Officer was guest of honour.

After flagging off the awarenes van, MLC said that marking yearly celebration of SBM in the shape of Pakhwada is a great step of Rural Department Department as it will help public participation in the initiative.

He further stated that the golden part of the initiative is the participation of youth who are the real force for the society and nation and are showing immense interest in the Swach Bharat Mission and working to realise the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing the event District Panchayat Officer Yar Ali Khan said that aim of Rural Development Department of flagging off this awareness van is to touch all the rural pockets of the district with this mission so that it can become successful in both rural and urban belts.

Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Sassalkote said that school administration had already started to aware student in morning assembly about this initiative as Swach Bharat is important for one and all and will help in overall development of the national.

Later BDO Doongi gave vote of thanks with a pledge taken by all the participants.
