Jammu, 2 March: Governor NN Vohra, who is Chairman of the SMVDSB, has formally written to the Prime Minister, requesting him to inaugurate the Super-Speciality Hospital being established by Shri Mata Vasishno Devi Shrine Board at kakryal in Reasi district.“The Governor has requested the Prime Minister to inaugurate the hospital in April.
The Governor has been undertaking weekly visits to Kakryal to ensure the timely completion of this important institution,” said an official spokesperson of the shrine board.
The project has been touching a wooping cost of Rs 300 crore. The super-speciality hospital will be having 20 streams of medicine and surgery, including cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, neurology, neuro-surgery, nephrology, urology, oncology, pulmonology, bone marrow transplant, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, trauma medicine, paediatrics, neonatology, obstetrics and gynaecology.
The Hospital will be focusing on cardiac sciences and oncology streams. It will also be containing a full-fledged bone marrow transplant facility. The hospital is said to be having a floor area of 2.54 lakh square feet and residential accommodation of 2.67 lakh square feet for housing doctors, nurses and paramedical and ancillary staff.
The Hospital complex will be providing rooms at moderate fares for those who are coming from within or outside the state for recovery and follow-up treatment and a guest house for visiting doctors. food will also be served throughtout the day on moderate rates. Admissions for the first batch of students to the nursing college is scheduled to take place in July.
Road connectivity to the area will be fully satisfactorily before the Super-Speciality Hospital became operational in 2014, said the Governor.
The agreement is signed between the SMVDSB and Narayana Hrudayalaya Private Limited, Bengaluru, which is already operating 32 hospitals all over the country.
