Prior warnings about the Udhampur attack had been issued by the MHA- Sources

The Ministry of Home Affairs had issued an alert about a week back, warning of a possible attack in Udhampur as per media sources. Sources added that L C Goyal Union Home Secretary was rage after he was informed about the militant attack as his office issued an advisory to JK police mentioning the respective place.

According to a MHA official, specific advisory was issued, mentioning that the Udhampur patch is the onlu vulnerable area on the highway stretch from Jammu to Banihal. Despite this the militants managed to strike an attack and that is embarrassing for the security agencies, said the official. It was added by the sources that DGP K Rajendra Kumar and IGP Jammu Danish Rana were upset for failing to act in the purview of prior warnings. The MHA had also issued advisories on grenade attacks in Anantnag and few other incidents which could not be thwarted despite advanced warnings.
