SRINAGAR: The Committees on Privileges and Ethics of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly mourns the death of Abdul Ahad Vakil, former Speaker of J&K Legislative Assembly and senior NC Leader, who passed yesterday.
The Privilege Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of MLA Mr. Abdul Gani Malik and attended by it members Peer Aafaq Ahmad and Mrs. Indu Pawar expressed its shock over the death of the leader.
The Panel said that Mr. Vakil was a man of principles and his contribution for the betterment and welfare of the down trodden people will be remembered for ever.
Meanwhile, the Committee on Ethics of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly met under the Chairmanship of MLA Ch. Zulfikar Ali and expressed their shock over the death of Mr. Abdul Ahad Vakil, Ex-Speaker. Legislators, Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh and Mir Zahoor Ahmad also attended. They said that the contribution of late Vakil for welfare of the weaker sections will be remembered for ever.
Both the Committees expressed sympathise with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Later, two minutes silence was observed in his memory.
Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Special Secretary, Assembly and other officers of Assembly Secretariat were attended the condolence meeting.
