Protest in Tral after Pak militant killed in gunbattle
As a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) top commander was killed today in an encounter in Tral town of South Kashmir violent clashes gripped the place as people demanded his body. The militant according to army is said to be from Pakistan. During the encounter a trooper has also got injured.
The violent protests started after locals began to demand the body of slain militant. Two police vehicles were torched by the protestors. The situation is still volatile here. The police have resorted to teargas shelling and baton charging to disperse the protestors. The militant has now been buried.
This commander, who was identified as Madani Bhai, was killed during a gun battle between forces and troopers – after army had got a tip off about the presence of militants at Aripal village of Tral.
