Protests outside Women’s College in Kashmir; one arrested

Srinagar: Students carried out massive protests on Tuesday, 9th April 2017, near Women College, MA Road. The police force used tear gas shells to disperse the enraged crowd. Earlier, the students from schools and colleges of neighbouring educational institutes assembled near Exchange Road and resorted to stone pelting.

They also hit the bunker outside Telephone exchange with canes. The vehicular movement on MA Road and residency Road remained affected during the clashes. Meanwhile, one person was arrested from Regal Chowk Srinagar and bundled into a vehicle by SOG men of JK Police.

However, it was not immediately known whether the arrested person was a student nor was his identity ascertained.
