Proud moment for Jammu: Son of soil conferred with National Award
Vikrant Sharma, who hails from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, is being conferred with this year’s National Bismillah Khan Yuva Sangeet Natak Academy Award in the field of Acting.
He is going to create a history for being the first actor from the state of Jammu & Kashmir ,who is being honored with this National recognition.
Vikrant born in 1978 to G.C. Sharma and Satya Sharma, started his journey with Natrang as a child artist in the year 1990 in the play ‘Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai’ written and directed by Balwant Thakur.
Since then he has been working actively with Natrang theatre group as an actor & trainer.
Vikrant has acted in more than 70 plays prominently amongst them included Ghumayee, Bhaag Beta Bhaag, Ek Tha Gadha urf Alladad Khan,Bawa Jitto’etc ,which count more than 1000 performances throughout India and abroad. He has also participated in more than 80 National Theatre festivals organized by the prestigious organizations of the country.
Sharma is presently working as programming head with 92.7 BIG FM.
