Advocates ex-gratia relief, medical aid for Latti road accident victims
UDHAMPUR, MAY 13:- Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat has demanded that adequate number of SRTC mini buses be plied on hilly roads of Cheneni Constituency to contain road accidents in future.
The MLA said, in this regard, the matter has been taken up with the Government. He said most of the area of the Constituency is hilly and due to narrowness, the roads are accident prone. He said frequent plying of adequate numbers of SRTC mini buses on these roads would go a long way in containing menace of overloading and accidents.
Referring to recent road accident that occurred at village Malhoti on Latti-Udhampur road, the MLA underscored the need for formulating an action plan to curb road accidents which claim scores of precious lives and leave hundreds injured every year. He urged the Government to take steps to arrest the malaise of road accidents in the State.
Mr. Bhagat advocated for providing adequate ex-gratia relief to the kins of those who were killed in recent Latti road accident and provision of required medical assistance to the injured.
