Provocative statements by ACC unjustified: Sethi

Jammu and Kashmir News

Jammu, July 18: The State unit of BJP dispels all rumours and misquoting being done by AIIMS Coordination Committee on the issue of AIIMS for Jammu. This was stated by BJP State Chief Spokesperson of J&K BJP Sunil Sethi while addressing a press conference alongwith State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan at party headquarters today.

Sunil Sethi said that the matter of granting AIIMS to Jammu is under active consideration of Central Government and needful will be done. The provocative statements being made by AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) is not only unjustified but are in breach of understanding reached between ACC and government, where time had been taken by government to take decision with regard to issue. The provocative and disparaging remarks and statements being made by AIIMS Coordination Committee even during this period is an indicator that real aim of the committee is not AIIMS but political and sense of insecurity and anarchy is being created to mislead people.

Sunil Sethi noted that BJP is representative of aspirations of people of state, especially Jammu province, from where the party has got massive support in elections and is alive to its responsibilities and duties towards public and is making efforts to address them. The statement being made by Committee to discredit BJP is smacked with political aspirations and motives. When the issue is being peacefully resolved, what is the need of making such uncalled for statements and collecting funds from public in the name of agitation, he regretted.

Sunil Sethi called upon ACC to exercise restraint and not make statements which are laced with political motives only to incite public. He further said that it was never committed to anyone that Prime Minister will make any announcement on the issue and expectation on this was figment of imagination of the AIIMS Coordination Committee and as such there is no need to be upset about it or to spread panic with public. The issue is being addressed at appropriate level as was promised, he said.
