PSC Aspirants cry of conspiracy in Screening test question paper

Srinagar, September 19: Raising qualms regarding the credibility of the test, aspirants who sat in the screening test for the post of civil engineer alleged that the question paper consisted questions from only one book.

The written screening test for the 150 gazetted post of assistant engineer was conducted by the J&K Public Service Commission. Nearly 3000 candidates sat in the exam and the question paper comprises of  certain number of questions from four different subjects. Majority of the candidates said that all the questions  in the question paper were from one book i.e Gupta and Gupta objective book.

Candidates also alleged that some blue-eyed aspirants knew that the screening test had been set up from one book.

The candidates questioned, there are a number of books recommended for the examination but asking all the questions from just one book sounds nothing but a conspiracy. Any candidate who lacks basic concepts of civil engineering can clear the written test easily by mugging 1,500 questions contained in the book. “What about the hard working bright students who put in all their effort for months together?” said one aspirant.

However, JKPSC chairman Abdul Latief Deva  has gone on record to say that even though there is no hard and fast rule for setting up of a question paper, setting all questions from one book is unfortunate. He further added that the impact of this question paper is being judged.
