Puneet Kundal, The Consul General of India in Cape Town, South Africa hosting his first Republic Day Celebrations. Over 250 people including Ministers, Legislators, Diplomats and other important dignitaries were in attendance for the event.

Puneet R Kundal, IFS, from the 1996 batch, is a son of the soil, and feels closely connected to Jammu, the city in which he was born and brought up. Having a civil services background he has closely watched the working of the officers, and was inspired to join the Indian Foreign Service when his father, a former bureaucrat was posted in Bhutan. Kundal says right from his childhood his parents showed great faith in him, and this was the reason he was able to pursue his dream. Kundal passed his 10th, and 12th standard from Presentation Convent School, Jammu and Diwan Badrinath School respectively, and later joined the BITS Pilani for civil engineering. Thereafter, he joined the prestigious JNU where he completed masters in Sociology.
