Question paper for SSC exam should now reach the centre only an hour before: Govt to DC

Jammu, January 07: In a bid to stop leaking of  question papers for the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examination, all the 22 Deputy Commissioners have been directed by the Jammu and Kashmir Government to ensure that the confidential package comprising question paper shall reach the examination centre just an hour before the start of exam.

A local daily has reported that the government has conducted a collective study of different incident of question paper leakage and found out that mostly it is due to the fact that confidential material reached the venues quite some time before the start of examination.

The Deputy Commissioners has also been told to keep a strict vigil over the distribution of the  question paper while the examination is being conducted by the SSC.

An official order has also issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) to the DCs that under no circumstances the confidential material reaches examination venues before 9 am in case of morning shift and 1 pm in case of afternoon shift as the examination starts at 10 am in the morning shift and at 2 pm in the afternoon shift.
Pertinently, the SSC has been entrusted with the task of making recruitment to various Group ‘B’ non-gazetted and Group ‘C’ non-technical posts in various departments of the Government of India. As per the procedure, the question paper bags and other material are sent to the district magistrates of various cities, who are the designated question paper receivers.
