Radhika Apte’s nude scenes again go viral

New Delhi: Radhika Apte, the talented actress, has again had to face the double standards of sleaze-ridden elements of the society after her nude scenes from the movie Parched which is an Aseem Bajaj production. Radhika Apte plays the character of a Gujarati village girl who is looking for true love. The movie is about three women in a remote Gujarat village who break free of century-old traditions of servitude and patriarchy.

Radhika Apte has done many roles in movies such as Manjhi: The Mountain Man, Badlapur, Shor in the City, Parched to doing a lead role the latest Rajnikanth Movie Kabali. Her short film Ahalya had become immensely famous as well.

The scene which involves Adil Hussain and Radhika Apte from the critically acclaimed & award winning 2015 film Parched is doing the rounds of internet. The said scene shows Adil and Radhika both topless and was allegedly leaked from outside India by culprits yet to be identified.

In a conversation with Indian Express, actor Adil Hussain said, “ It shows how sexually obsessed a lot of people in our society are. You leak only the sex scene and no other beautiful scenes from the film. It only shows that we are extremely obsessed about sex and yet we don’t want to talk about it. We shun it, shove it under the carpet and don’t want to show it to people.”

The actor has even pointed out how the video has been titled ‘Radhika Apte sex scene’ instead of ‘Adil Hussain sex scene’ reflecting on the sleaze infested patriarchal mindset of the society.

“The most interesting aspect is that the leaked videos is titled as Radhika Apte sex scene and not as Adil Hussain sex scene. That’s because a man doing it is just another matter whereas when a woman does it, it does matter. It is only then when it becomes a sex scene. It also shows the patriarchal society that we live in. In the West, such scenes are normally shown in their films,” reasoned Adil.

The makers of the film have approached the cyber cell with a complaint.
