Railways plans Ayodhya railway station as Ram temple replica, says Manoj Sinha


Lucknow: The Railway Ministry has come out with big plans for the Ayodhya Railway Station, which it is rebuilding. A proposal in this regard will be submitted to the Union government soon. In its new avatar, if the proposal is approved, the Ayodhya Railway Station will turn into a replica of the Ram temple. This was disclosed by Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha.

Sinha on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 200 crore, including Rs 80 crore for the reconstruction of the railway station. “The government is concerned about connecting Ayodhya through rail to the entire country so that Ram Bhakts can visit the place,” he said.

The refurbished Ayodhya station would have all state-of-the-art facilities. According to the minister, Rs 1,116 crore was being spent on the double track and electrification of Faizabad-Barabanki rail route and the work is expected to be completed by 2022.

BJP MP Vinay Katiyar, who was present at the event, said: “The development of Ayodhya railway station was being discussed at the time of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. When its construction will be completed, then the construction of Ram temple will be started.”
