Rajendra reviews Jumat ul Vida, Shab i Qadr, Eid arrangements
SRINAGAR : JULY 24: Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar today called upon the all field police and paramilitary officers to maintain close coordination at all levels so that peace and order is maintained during the Eid festivities.
Mr. Rajendra was addressing a senior officers’ meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) here this evening.
The meeting was convened to finalise security and other arrangements put in place to celebrate the auspicious days of Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-i-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The meeting discussed various issues related to the law and order, security, traffic and parking of vehicles. The meeting was told that sufficient security arrangements have been made for the venues where congregations would take place during the celebrations.
The meeting was told that special squads have been framed to check the activities of anti- national elements who create trouble during such occasions. The officers present in the meeting apprised the DGP about the steps taken by them to keep law and order maintained so that people do not face any trouble during the festivities.
Mr. Rajendra stressed for maintaining close coordination among all security agencies and asked the field officers that people should celebrate the festivals in a befitting manner and they should not feel any inconvenience during these festivals.
The meeting also discussed smooth plying of the traffic on all the routes of the venues of the congregational prayer meetings.
The DGP asked the Traffic Department for ensuring proper parking slots at these venues so that there no rush or traffic jamming.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADsGP, Mr. VK Singh and Mr. SM Sahai, IsGP, Dr. B. Srinivas, Mr. AG Mir and Mr. Muneer Ahmed Khan, DIsGP, Mr. Ahfadul Mujtaba, Mr. Vijay Kumar and Mr. GH Bhat, other police and PMF officers.
