SRINAGAR, JUNE 04: Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar visited Anantnag to pay tributes to the two cops, who were killed by at General Bus Stand today. He paid floral tributes to the martyred cops and also visited place of occurrence.
On hearing the news about unfortunate incident, in which ASI Bashir Ahmed and Constable Riyaz Ahmed of District Police Antnang were fired upon when they were busy in their professional duties at General Bus Stand, the DGP visited the place of occurrence and took stock of the situation.
DGP along with a large number of jawans and officers from the JKP and other security agencies, besides civil administration attended the wreath laying ceremony held at District Police Lines. He paid floral tributes to the martyred cops and reiterated that the sacrifices of the brave cops would lead the force in their fight for peace and order. He said that the martyrs have sacrifices their precarious lives at the altar of their duty to safeguard unity and integrity of the Nation.
Rajendra expressed solidarity with the bereaved families, praying for eternal peace to the departed souls. He said that whole Police Parivar is at the back of bereaved families and share the grief and sorrow with them. He assured that every support would be provided to the families of martyrs providing them successor and assistance.
Later, Mr. Rajendra chairing a meeting at Range Police Office, asked the officers from police and Central Para-military Forces to gear up all resources to apprehend the culprits. He said that desperate attempts by the anti social elements would strengthen our commitment and forces will chase the culprits till they are brought to justice. He stressed for joint efforts by the security and other agencies to curb their activities.
The meeting attended by IGP Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani, IGP CRPF (Ops.), Nalin Prabath and Atul Karwal, DIG, SKR, Nitish Kumar, all district SSsP, SDPOs of South Kashmir and other police officers.
