Jammu, August 29: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is to lead an all-party delegation for a visit to Jammu and Kashmir on September 4. It is being expected that the delegation is to interact with different sections of the society as part of efforts to bring peace in the Valley which has seen unrest since July 8. This information was provided by a spokesperson of the Home Ministry.
The Home Minister met with BJP President Amit Shah, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley MoS for PMO Jitendra Singh this Sunday to discuss the conception of the all-party delegation. According to highly placed sources, the discussion included the possible individuals and groups with whom the delegation may interact during its tour of the troubled state.
The government has already requested different political parties to convey the names of their representatives who will be part of the team.
