Jammu, August 23: Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir for two days beginning Wednesday. Accompanying him would be the Home Secretary and other senior officials from the Home Ministry.
Rajnath Singh has held two rounds of talks with “eminent citizens”, mostly non-Kashmiri Muslims, to find a solution to the brewing situation in Kashmir. The Indian Express reports that the Centre is seeking their help to start a dialogue and find a solution to the Kashmiri conundrum.
The Home Minister, earlier on Saturday had lashed out at Pakistan for the rising unrest in Kashmir, urging the Kashmiri youth to pick up pens and computers instead of stones and bricks.
Kashmir has been burning in the wake of the encounter of Burhan Wani as violent protests have disrupted daily life in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Curfew restrictions in many parts of Kashmir Valley is in force as life remained paralysed for the 46th consecutive day on Tuesday.
